Accuracy beats everything
A W-2 with a housing-allowance mistake is a real problem for a real pastor. We integrate with Symmetry Tax Engine so calculations reflect the actual law.
Transparency about what we do
Our changelog is public. Our roadmap is (mostly) public. If a feature’s coming soon, we say so.
About CarbonHRM
CarbonHRM started because the ministries we knew were stitching together general-purpose payroll software, spreadsheets, and manual processes to handle something that shouldn’t be that hard. If a payroll system doesn’t understand that a pastor’s housing allowance is pre-tax and non-cash — or that a 403(b) isn’t a 401(k), even though they look similar — it’s not built for you. So we built something that was.
The platform today covers payroll, timekeeping, leave management, team member reviews with AI coaching for managers, tax reporting (W-2, 1099, 1095-C, 941, state, local), and analytics. New modules ship regularly — see the changelog for what’s new and the roadmap for what’s next.
We’re still a small team, but we’re building for the long term. We don’t plan to be absorbed by a bigger HR vendor who then forgets the ministry part.
